Bio

Growing up on a small island off the west coast of Canada Bridget has been enchanted by dance and inspired by nature from a young age. She was first introduced to dances of the Middle East by her mother who danced in the Melissa dance company, a group of women who practiced and performed in their small community.

Her first journey to India in 2012 profoundly shifted her perception of dance, inspiring her to deepen her knowledge through long-term training in Odissi classical dance and yoga. She has returned to India many times to further integrate and develop these practices. She continues to explore transnational fusion dance styles and Datura-style dance, completing her phase three Datura-style practitioner certification in 2017.

Forever reaching for the mysteries of life, she strives to engage in dance as a path of self-inquiry, inner development, and devotion to connect with the divine. This path opens the heart and quiets the mind, allowing us to receive and transmit the eternal truths and timeless beauty of dance. As a teacher, she aims to guide students in cultivating a deeper awareness of the physical and energetic realms of the body through conscious and consistent practice. She believes that the true beauty of art lies in the time, effort, love, and devotion invested in it, elevating it above the ordinary. Deeply grateful for the guidance of her teachers, Colleena Shakti and Rachel Brice, Bridget remains a dedicated student of dance, forever exploring the mystical pathways that lead to expanded awareness and expression through movement.
